How Call of Duty: Black Ops bans work
Call of Duty: Black Ops titles are enforced by Activision through its RICOCHET anti-cheat team. Since penalties are set on the Activision account, a permanent ban can extend to more than one Call of Duty game.
A review is requested through Activision Support. Thus, the request should match the account, the platform and the time frame shown on the enforcement notice, and it should explain the flagged activity in concrete terms.

How to appeal a Call of Duty: Black Ops ban
-
Save the ban notice
The first step is to secure the Call of Duty: Black Ops ban message as a screenshot and as text, together with the date, the platform and any reference number or ID it shows.
-
Find the rule it relies on
The notice usually names a rule. That rule shall be looked up in the terms Activision Publishing, Inc. publishes, so that the appeal answers it instead of making a general complaint. Activision Publishing, Inc. terms of service

Collect what supports your side
Useful evidence includes purchase receipts, earlier support replies with ticket numbers and, for a device ban, when the PC or console was acquired and who else used it. A password, however, is never part of the evidence.
-
Send one clear appeal to Activision Support (ban appeal page)
The appeal is sent while signed in with the banned account, as a single request that sets out what happened in chronological order, why the rule does not fit and which documents are attached. Official page: support.activision.com/ban-appeal (link checked on 26 Oct 2026)
-
Keep the ticket and follow up with facts
The ticket number and the reply shall be kept. If Activision Publishing, Inc. refuses, a second request makes sense only with new facts or a clearer explanation; repeating the first request adds nothing.
We prepare steps 2 to 4 for you: the appeal text, the rule it answers and where to send it, checked by a person before you get it. Start your Call of Duty: Black Ops appeal

How do I appeal a Black Ops ban?
Request a review through Activision Support for the banned account. Keep the notice, your Activision ID and platform, and describe what you were doing before the penalty.
Is a Black Ops shadowban a ban?
No. "Under review" limits matchmaking while Activision checks the account. It can end without a ban, or turn into one.
Think Activision Publishing, Inc. got it wrong?
