How Dead by Daylight bans work

Dead by Daylight is published by Behaviour Interactive, which decides both on bans and on appeals against them. In general, a ban follows a detection by Easy Anti-Cheat on PC, a report about conduct in a match, or account activity that Behaviour links to cheat software or account sharing.

The store the game was bought from, however, plays no part in the decision. Behaviour's player support handles bans set by Behaviour, whereas automated Easy Anti-Cheat bans are reviewed through Easy Anti-Cheat's own appeal form; thus, the first step is to establish which of the two set the ban.

Step by step

How to appeal a Dead by Daylight ban

  1. Save the ban notice

The first step is to secure the Dead by Daylight ban message as a screenshot and as text, together with the date, the platform and any reference number or ID it shows.

  2. Find the rule it relies on

The notice usually names a rule. That rule shall be looked up in the terms Behaviour Interactive publishes, so that the appeal answers it instead of making a general complaint. Behaviour Interactive terms of service

  3. Collect what supports your side

Useful evidence includes purchase receipts, earlier support replies with ticket numbers and, for a device ban, when the PC or console was acquired and who else used it. A password, however, is never part of the evidence.

  4. Send one clear appeal to Behaviour Interactive player support

The appeal is sent while signed in with the banned account, as a single request that sets out what happened in chronological order, why the rule does not fit and which documents are attached. Official page: support.deadbydaylight.com (link checked on 26 Oct 2026)

  5. Keep the ticket and follow up with facts

The ticket number and the reply shall be kept. If Behaviour Interactive refuses, a second request makes sense only with new facts or a clearer explanation; repeating the first request adds nothing.

We prepare steps 2 to 4 for you: the appeal text, the rule it answers and where to send it, checked by a person before you get it. Start your Dead by Daylight appeal

Questions

Questions about Dead by Daylight appeals

Can a Dead by Daylight ban be appealed?

Yes. Behaviour Interactive accepts appeals through its player support. Include the ban notice, the platform and account name, when it happened and what you were running on the PC at the time.

Is a DBD ban tied to Steam, PlayStation or Xbox?

The ban is set by Behaviour Interactive on your Dead by Daylight account. The store you bought the game from does not decide it, so the appeal goes to Behaviour's support.
