How Counter-Strike 2 bans work
Counter-Strike 2 is Valve's game. According to Valve's own policy, VAC bans and CS2 game bans are permanent, cannot be appealed and remain on the account regardless of who was using it; competitive cooldowns cannot be removed or reduced by Steam Support, and Steam Support cannot change trade or Community Market restrictions.
Valve does, however, remove incorrect bans by itself when its own investigation shows an error, and it rolls back cooldowns caused by automated errors. Thus, an appeal in the usual sense has no addressee for CS2; what remains is the recovery of a locked or stolen account through Steam Support, and the free Ban Check says so before any payment.

How to appeal a Counter-Strike 2 ban
-
Save the ban notice
The first step is to secure the Counter-Strike 2 ban message as a screenshot and as text, together with the date, the platform and any reference number or ID it shows.
-
Find the rule it relies on
The notice usually names a rule. That rule shall be looked up in the terms Valve Corporation publishes, so that the appeal answers it instead of making a general complaint. Valve Corporation terms of service
-
Collect what supports your side
Useful evidence includes purchase receipts, earlier support replies with ticket numbers and, for a device ban, when the PC or console was acquired and who else used it. A password, however, is never part of the evidence.
-
Send one clear appeal to Steam Support (account locks and stolen accounts only)
The appeal is sent while signed in with the banned account, as a single request that sets out what happened in chronological order, why the rule does not fit and which documents are attached. Official page: help.steampowered.com/en (link checked on 26 Oct 2026)
-
Keep the ticket and follow up with facts
The ticket number and the reply shall be kept. If Valve Corporation refuses, a second request makes sense only with new facts or a clearer explanation; repeating the first request adds nothing.
We prepare steps 2 to 4 for you: the appeal text, the rule it answers and where to send it, checked by a person before you get it. Start your Counter-Strike 2 appeal

Questions about Counter-Strike 2 appeals
Can a CS2 VAC or game ban be removed?
Not on request. Valve states that VAC bans and CS2 game bans are permanent and cannot be appealed; incorrect bans are removed by Valve itself after its own investigation.
What if my Steam account was stolen when the ban happened?
Recover the account through Steam Support. Valve states, however, that a ban stays on the account regardless of who was using it, so the recovery does not lift the ban.
Think Valve Corporation got it wrong?
Tell us what happened. You will see the price and the waiting time before you pay.
