How Minecraft bans work
Minecraft is owned by Mojang Studios and Microsoft. Account-level bans, e.g. after chat reports on Java Edition or enforcement on Bedrock Edition, are decided by Mojang and Microsoft and reviewed through their appeal process.
Server bans follow different rules. On servers such as Hypixel, the server's staff decide bans, and only that server's appeal process can lift them; thus, the first question is always who imposed the ban.

How to appeal a Minecraft ban
-
Save the ban notice
The first step is to secure the Minecraft ban message as a screenshot and as text, together with the date, the platform and any reference number or ID it shows.
-
Find the rule it relies on
The notice usually names a rule. That rule shall be looked up in the terms Mojang Studios publishes, so that the appeal answers it instead of making a general complaint. Mojang Studios terms of service
-
Collect what supports your side
Useful evidence includes purchase receipts, earlier support replies with ticket numbers and, for a device ban, when the PC or console was acquired and who else used it. A password, however, is never part of the evidence.
-
Send one clear appeal to Minecraft Help (Mojang and Microsoft) for account bans, or the server's own appeal process for server bans
The appeal is sent while signed in with the banned account, as a single request that sets out what happened in chronological order, why the rule does not fit and which documents are attached. Official page: help.minecraft.net (link checked on 26 Oct 2026)
-
Keep the ticket and follow up with facts
The ticket number and the reply shall be kept. If Mojang Studios refuses, a second request makes sense only with new facts or a clearer explanation; repeating the first request adds nothing.
We prepare steps 2 to 4 for you: the appeal text, the rule it answers and where to send it, checked by a person before you get it. Start your Minecraft appeal
Questions about Minecraft appeals
How do I appeal a Minecraft account ban?
Through Mojang's or Microsoft's enforcement appeal for the account. Refer to the reported message or action and explain the context.
I was banned from a Minecraft server. Can you help?
A server ban is decided by that server's staff. We can help you write a clear, polite appeal for the server's own form.
Think Mojang Studios got it wrong?
Tell us what happened. You will see the price and the waiting time before you pay.
